Entrances to Airports are one of the most
difficult areas due to high pedestrian
traffic. They are also an area that heavy
investment in matting products produces the
best investment due to the ability of
matting to protect expensive flooring from
wear as well as controlling annual cleaning
costs, which by their nature are already
very high.
We recommend that the exterior areas,
especially outside the main doors are
covered by
Fall Thru products, these must be
ramped. This cleaning zone will have to be
replaced regularly (perhaps once a year) in
the immediate high traffic pedestrian
tracks. The effect on heavy grit trapped by
the coils and falls through the mat, keeping
the dirt hidden beneath the mat. The mats
are easily rolled up and removed to clean
the surface underneath with a brush or
mechanical cleaning machine.

We also produce several other types of
matting, which can be used throughout
Airports. These mats and the areas where
they are best suited are listed below.
Check in desks
Directional mats are essentially dust
control mats, which can also be used to
direct people to various locations around
the Airport, i.e. to the restrooms or
restaurant etc.
Boarding gates
The essential mat to use in these areas,
which can become very wet due to water
carried by passing feet, is the
Ultimat, which is the only rain mat of
its type available throughout the world.
Because it is made with Polyester and
Viscose,
Ultimat can absorb 7 litres of water per
square metre, which keeps water outside and
not on the clean floor inside. Defender is
also suited to these areas as the scraper
action cleans shoes and traps large amounts
of dirt.
Airport Shops
Dust control mats are essential in these
high pedestrian traffic areas. There are two
types of mat we recommend for use in Shops,
the
Marble Professional runner mats and
Logomats, which can have the stores name
or logo weaved into the mat.
Restaurant / Canteen areas
Stay Put is the mat we recommend for use
in these areas. It is a dust control mat
made to be washable in rotary washing
machines, and has an effective non-slip
rubber backing, so it is completely safe for
use on polished wooden or tiled floors.
Ringo is used in these areas as it is
grease resistant and has anti fatigue
properties. |
